Anna-Maria’s Story
Anna-Maria Barbaro grew up in the western suburbs of Sydney, Australia where she studied acting until her mid-20s, training in the use of Meisner technique and Practical Aesthetics. After completing her Bachelor of Arts, majoring in theatre studies and communications, her direction in the film industry began to shift to directing as she completed her Masters of Media and Production at the University of Technology Sydney.
‘Pepper’ (2019) is her first major short film.
‘Words From A Spoken Darkness’, published by Austin Macauley, was released in October 2019 and contains a series of poems and prose composed by Anna-Maria. This was her first major publication and is available on many leading book stores, including but not limited to Amazon and Book Depository:
